Crunchy Autumn Crumble!
Create warm memories with this delicate yet crunchy crumble – sure to delight the whole family! Put our fresh apples, pears, and plums to good use and crown them with a signature crunchy crumble mix.
- 140g Plain flour
- 100g Butter
- 4 tbsp Rolled oats
- 2-3 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 Eating apples
- 2 Pears
- 6 Plums
- A handful of sultanas, soaked in hot water for 10 minutes
- 1-2 tbsp honey
- Natural yoghurt, ice cream, or crème fraîche to serve
STEP 1 – Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Sift the flour into a bowl and add the butter. Using a fork or your hands, mash together until it resembles breadcrumbs with no remaining lumps. Add the oats, sugar, and cinnamon to the flour and butter mixture.
STEP 2 – Core the apples and pears, then stone the plums. Chop all the fruit, keeping the skin on for added flavour, vitamins, and minerals, and place them in an ovenproof dish in layers. Drain the sultanas and add them to the fruit. Drizzle with honey.
STEP 3 – Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the fruit. Bake for 20-30 minutes until the crumble topping is golden, and the fruit is bubbling. Serve with a generous spoonful of natural yoghurt, ice cream, or crème fraîche.
